Scosche Streaming Audio via Bluetooth for iPod/MP3 Players

Scosche has developed streaming audio via Bluetooth capabilities for home, car and sport usage. The Scosche Bluetooth transmitter connects directly to the headphone output connector of the iPod/MP3 unit and transmits to a Bluetooth receiver connected to the auxiliary input of a vehicle’s head unit or home audio system. Unlike other wired FM transmitters or RF remotes, Scosche’s wireless technology transmits digital continuous streaming audio with CD quality sound to your car audio or home audio system. BlueLife can connect to automotive aftermarket or OEM head-units. BlueLife includes hands-free cellular functions for Bluetooth enabled cell phones allowing users to listen to their music and answer cell phone calls hands-free in their cars. The hands-free cell phone microphone is included with Scosche BlueLife kit. The Scosche wireless Bluetooth interface in the home will allow anyone to listen to an iPod or MP3 player with digital sound CD quality through a home audio system. Cell phones as dangerous as drunk driving

Is having a cell phone pressed to your ear while behind the wheel the equivalent of driving while intoxicated? According to a study by University of Utah psychologists, the answer is, unfortunately, yes.
“Just like you put yourself and other people at risk when you drive drunk, you put yourself and others at risk when you use a cell phone and drive,” writes David Strayer, a psychology professor and the study’s lead author. “The level of impairment is very similar.”
The study, published in the June 29 issue of Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, found that drivers talking on cell phones, either handheld or hands-free, are more likely to crash because they are distracted by conversation.
Using a driving simulator under four different conditions: with no distractions, using a handheld cell phone, talking on a hands-free cell phone, and while intoxicated to the 0.08 percent blood-alcohol level, 40 participants followed a simulated pace car that braked intermittently.
Researchers found that the drivers on cell phones drove more slowly, braked more slowly and were more likely to crash. In fact, the three participants who collided into the pace car were chatting away. None of the drunken drivers crashed.
“This study does not mean people should start driving drunk,” said co-author Frank Drews. “It means that driving while talking on a cell phone is as bad as or maybe worse than driving drunk, which is completely unacceptable and cannot be tolerated by society.”
Preliminary results from the study were announced three years ago.

1. First, you need the batch files to perform the Shutdown, Hibernate etc. You can write them down yourselves or can download them from here.
2. Extract them to your C:\ drive so the path to the shutdown batch file is C:\sms_functions\shutdown.bat (Important this is a must the path must be exact) or you can modify the rule once you import it to point to the new destination, it’s your call.
3. Open up Microsoft Outlook. Make sure that you have already configured it for your email.Now we will need to make it so that Outlook checks your inbox about every minute (1 minute for testing time can be increased if a delayed shutdown is desired). You can do this by going to Tools: Options.
4. Then click the Mail Setup tab, and afterwards, the Send/Receive button.
5. Make sure that the Schedule an automatic send/receive every… box is checked, and set the number of minutes to 1. Now you may close all of these dialog boxes.
6. Now go to Tools: Rules and Alerts… Next click the options button in the upper right hand corner and press the Import Rules button.
7. Now select the shutdown.rwz file that was found in the zip file named sms_functions that you downloaded (the one taken from the original source).
8. Now, when you send a message from your phone to your e-mail address with the subject smsshutdown%%, your computer will shutdown.
