So, I am moving to Florida (from Canada) this week and have been able to transfer my current cell phone contract to one of my brothers. What do you think would be a good cell phone deal for me here in the States. I was thinking of getting just a land phone for the apartment but really need a cell phone as I will not be spending much time in the apartment. I would be mostly making calls to Canada (at night and on weekends when I am off work). Anybody have any ideas? Any help would be most appreciated. There are so many to choose from, it is difficult to know what is the best.

It is always best to compare the companies coverage in the area you will be spending most of your time in. After you have found the companies that cover the areas you need, compare their costs for international calling. Alltel has an international calling plan that lets you call Canada for $0.10/Minute. Verizon Wireless also has a plan called North America’s Choice that allows you to call certain parts of Cananda without any long distance charges. You would have to check with Verizon to see if the parts of Canada you are going to be calling are included.

I dont think anyone offers that. I do know that AIM offers a free phone line. Its for like a month or something and I dont know if they still offer it. It does work and you get a local phone number. Its for your computer thought so you need a speaker and a mic.

i have been wanting to get a cell phone for a while, and i just found this plan and cell phone deal on this website.
Aparently you sign a 2 year contract with sprint for 70 dollars a month
the plan includes unlimited text, pix chat, im, and all that kinda stuff, unlimited internet, mobile tv, radio, and gps use. and then you get 450 minutes a month
and if you sign a two year contract with that plan you get a free samsung instinct phone after mail in rebate.
sounds like a good deal to me, what do you think

i just remembered that with the plan you also get unlimited internet access, web brousing, email access, direct connect, nationwide long distance, and free minutes after 7pm and all weekend
to answer some of your responses, yes, i deffinetly will use text, internet, mobile tv, and radio a lot!!!!!
and the phone does end up being free, i read all of the stuff, there are deffinetly no hidden fees, all you pay for is 36 dollars for activation fee, then 70 a month

With all the unlimited add ons, that you’ve included, it does make it a good deal!
